Summer Exhibitions and Galleries

Community artists Hanne Kauppinen and Suvi Nurmi will be present at the Luona participatory art hub during Mänttä Art Festival, two days a week. Visitors of all ages are welcome to take part in guided creative activities.

Pekilo cortyard, Tehtaankatu 21, Mänttä

A photography exhibition showcasing more than 100 years of Mänttä Club’s history is displayed on the walls of the building. The exhibition has been curated by Tarja Antikainen. The catalogue is available in the downstairs corridor next to the dining room.

Marjukka Stenlund’s retrospective exhibition GROWTH STORY spans the years 1973–2026. The artist has gathered works from different stages of her artistic education and professional career, alongside recent oil paintings created during the past few years. In her latest paintings, Stenlund explores the contrasts between light and shadow. The works are inspired by personal memories, experiences, and encounters with nature.

The exhibition includes drawings, watercolours, art, advertising and television graphics, bookbinding, ceramics, sculptures, and oil paintings.

The Pilvilinna 90 Years exhibition is presented at Mänttä Library.

Ronny Gilan has painted portraits of 120 artists, ranging from masters of the 15th century to contemporary artists. The collection includes both Finnish and international artists.

Myllyrannan mylly, Myllyrannantie 5, Mänttä

Petra Innanen’s Hot and Passionate Time Capsule celebrating her 40th year as an artist. This spectacular summer exhibition by the visual artist and burlesque star fills the grounds of Art House Brander. The Demon Sauna, Selfie Outhouse, Reformatory, Gallery Garage and the brand-new Nightmare Cellar are packed with previously unseen behind-the-scenes material.

Kaj Stenvall’s paintings have previously been exhibited in the Art Town of Mänttä twice before. First at the inaugural Mänttä Art Festival in 1993 and later during the 2018 festival curated by Veikko Halmetoja. Now they return to Mänttä for a third time at Galleria Halmetoja Mänttä.

In recent years, Stenvall has gained international recognition for his politically charged surrealist works. In Finland, however, he remains best known for his relatable duck characters featured in traditional oil paintings.

This exhibition combines both sides of Stenvall’s artistic production in a collection curated jointly by the artist and Veikko Halmetoja.

The gallery and accompanying art shop are open daily. Free admission.

A mythology-themed exhibition in a large historic root cellar at Kuusela Art Park. Sculptures are also displayed throughout the surrounding park.
