Kasilanniemi is located in Kasilansaari, the village of Huopioniemi in Vilppula municipality, close to the waterway that leads to Lake Näsijärvi. This three-hectare area is easily accessible by boat. There is space for several boats at the shore and the boat dock has buoy berths for four large boats. With a lean-to, two fire pits and an outhouse, Kasilanniemi is a nice place to take a break or spend a night.
The area is owned by the Pirkanmaa recreation area association. The association’s mission is to develop and promote recreation and hiking opportunities in Pirkanmaa. The association acquires new land areas for recreation use. The land areas are jointly owned by the municipalities that are members of the association and are available to the public for outdoor recreation and hiking. Mänttä-Vilppula is a member municipality of the Pirkanmaa recreation area association.
