Serlachius Residency is a guest atelier for creative professionals in the field of visual arts, maintained by the Gösta Serlachius Fine Arts Foundation. The Residency was established in 2015 in collaboration with the Mänttä Art Festival.
Approximately 20 artists or artist collectives from various parts of the world are selected for the Residency each year. Researchers and curators working in the field of visual arts can also apply for the Residency.
The guests of the Residency have access to an atelier and gallery space in the town centre of Mänttä, in a wood building located next to Serlachius Museum Gustaf. The guests are accommodated in a property known as Einola, which is next to Serlachius Museum Gösta.
During their time at the Residency, the artists produce small events and exhibition in the gallery. The Residency’s Friday coffee event usually takes place at 16:00 on the first or second Friday of each month. The event features the visiting artists presenting the projects they are working on. Admission is free of charge to all of the Residency’s events.
