Dating back to 1993, Mänttä Art Festival is the most significant festival featuring Finnish modern art. The summertime exhibition is built in the Pekilo exhibition centre each year under the guidance of a new artistic director as the curator. Every summer is different, but the festival is always surprising, aesthetically fresh and thought-provoking.
The summer 2025 exhibition of Mänttä Art Festival will be observed through the word “no”. Subjects such as locality, childhood and parenthood, the human environment, traditions and the mind and body are examined through the NO lens. The XXIX Mänttä Art Festival will also look at art curation from different perspectives. The Exhibition Curator Krister Gråhn has invited co-curators, who are experts of different roles in the art field, to participate.
During the Mänttä Art Festival, the Pekilo shop serves coffee, tea, snacks, ice-cream and refreshments. You can also find new books on modern art in Pekilo.
Pekilo does not disappoint!
